Relations between Chinese Epic Studies and Scholars’ Knowledge Construction: From the Late 19th Century to the Early 21st Century

That an era of academic occurs in a specific era is inevitable, but that a man makes a difference in a period of the era is incidental. The academic of an era can be constructed by many elements, the scholars should be considered in them. Some scholars will play an important role in the development of the scholarship in epic studies in China, even become leaders in the construction and trends of Chinese folkloristics. Levels of culture, intellectual equipment, thinking characteristics, and art taste of these scholars have a direct relationship with different periods of Chinese Epic Studies ranging from late 19th century to early 21st century.
