Gong, Yushu

Dr. Gong Yushu, born in 1957, is a professor of the Research Center for Eastern Literature at Peking University and of the Department of Oriental Studies, School for Foreign Languages, Peking University. He obtained M.A. in Ancient World History form Northeast Normal University in 1985, and Ph.D. in Assyriology from the University of Munich, Germany in 1997.  He has published five monographs, two in German (Sudien zur bildung und Emtwicklung der Keilschriftzeichen, Hamburg 1993; Die Namen der Keilschriftzeichen, Münster 2000 ), three in Chinese (《日出东方──苏美尔文明探秘》、《西亚考古史》、《升起来吧!像太阳一样──解析美苏尔史诗〈恩美卡与阿拉塔之王〉》), of which the most representative is Die Namen der Keilschriftzeichen(Münster 2000)。
