Liu, Yahu Liu, Yahu is a Han from Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. He received his M.A. at Peking University, and his interests of research focus mainly on literary studies of ethnic groups in southwestern China. He is Senior Research Fellow emeritus and the former Director of Division of Southern Ethnic Literature at Institute of Ethnic Literature, CASS. His publications include Yuanshi Xushi Xing Yishu De Jiejing (The Essence of Primitive Narrative Arts, 1991), Guangxi Shanshui Chuanshuo Tan Mei (The Aesthetic Exploration into the Legend on Landscape in Guangxi, 1994), Nanfang Shishi Lun (On Epics of Southern China, 1999), Huangye Shang De Jitan (Sacrificial Altar in the Wild, 2000), and Zhongguo Nanfang Minzu Wenxue Guanxi Shi: Xian-Qin Qinhan Weijin Nanbeichao Juan (History of Literary Relations among Ethnic Groups in Southern China: the Volume of the Pre-Qin, the Wei, the Jin, the North and the South Dynasties, 2001).
